RRB Station Master Apply Online 2026: Steps, Fee, Documents, Last Date

The RRB Station Master apply online 2026 process has been started on 27 October 2026, and the form can be submitted till 25 November 2026 (23:59 hrs). Only one application to one RRB is allowed under CEN No. 08/2026, so a candidate should read each step before opening the form. The link for the form are given on rrbapply.gov.in.

RRB Station Master Apply Online 2026 Last Date and Important Dates

Every date that matters for the form is in the table below. The date of the CBT is not announced, so it is not shown here.

Note on the fee date : the dates table of the notice gives 27 November 2026 as the last day for fee payment. But one paragraph on modification (para 19.6) calls 25 November 2026 (23:59 hrs) the last date of fee payment. This is a contradiction inside the notice. The safe way is to pay the fee on the same day the form is submitted, and not to wait for the 27th.

Servers get slow in the last days, and the notice says the board takes no responsibility for a failed submission because of heavy load. So do not keep the form for the last evening.

Things to Keep Ready Before You Open the Form

Keep these ready on the desk: your own mobile number and a working email ID (OTPs go to both), Aadhaar or DigiLocker access, the Xth class certificate for the exact spelling of names and date of birth, your Graduation details with the result declaration date, a bank account linked with Aadhaar, a black pen and white paper for the signature, a camera for the live photo, and the category certificate details if you claim any benefit.

The mobile number and email cannot be changed at any stage, so use your own and not a cyber cafe number.

How to Apply Online for RRB Station Master 2026 Step by Step

Step 1: Open the correct website

Go to the unified official website, rrb.indianrailways.gov.in, and from there open the link meant for CEN 08/2026. The notice says the form link is made live on rrbapply.gov.in. Do not use a link that came from a social media post or a message, because the notice warns about fake websites and touts.

Step 2: RRB login or account creation

The portal first asks for an account. A candidate who already made an account for any CEN of 2024, 2025 or 2026 should log in with the same credentials, so no second account is needed. New candidates have to use "Create an Account" first. An OTP will come on the mobile and the email during this step.

These account details, including mobile number and email, has no correction later. Type the name, father's name, mother's name and date of birth exactly as written in the Xth class certificate. If the name was changed later by a gazette notification, the notice asks the candidate to show the changed name and the certificate name separately in the form, and to carry the gazette copy with one photo ID at the CBT or DV.

Step 3: Aadhaar or DigiLocker verification

The notice advises candidates to verify identity with DigiLocker or Aadhaar while creating the account. If this is missed, the "Verify Aadhaar" option inside the application can still be used, but it must be done before final submission. Those who verify with some other photo ID will face much stricter checking at each stage, as per the notice.

Aadhaar is also used for the refund. During the form the candidate validates the Aadhaar number, and the bank account linked to it is shown for confirmation. If no account is linked, the portal sends the candidate to the NPCI portal for linking and then brings back to the form.

Step 4: Choose one RRB and the zones

This is the step with no return. The RRB chosen once is final, and the notice says it cannot be edited even in the correction window also. Check Annexure-A and Annexure-B of the notice, then choose your RRB. After this, the form asks for the order of preference of the railway zones under that RRB. The RRB wise vacancy list will help in taking this decision.

Step 5: Fill the personal, education and category details

Enter the details with the certificates in hand. The present address must be true and complete, because the original proof of it is checked at document verification, and for the empanelled candidates the police verification is done at the same address. A candidate without an address proof is advised in the notice to update the Aadhaar or another government ID.

The candidate also selects the medium of the CBT here. English, Hindi and 13 regional languages are available, and once chosen the language cannot be changed. If you claim OBC-NCL, EWS or EBC status, its number, issue date and the other asked fields have to be typed in this part.

Step 6: Live photo and signature

The photo is captured live, and the signature is uploaded as a scanned file. Rules for both are in the documents section below.

Step 7: Final submission

Check every field once more, before the final click, because a submitted form can be edited only in the paid correction window. The portal then moves to the payment page.

Step 8: Pay the fee

Pay through internet banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. The notice says the application is accepted only after the fee payment is confirmed, and a message on email and SMS is sent when the payment is successful. Keep the Registration Number safe, the notice asks the candidates to remember it for the later stages.

The notice does not say anything about taking a printout. Still, save the confirmation message and a copy of the final form on your phone or computer.

RRB Station Master Application Fee 2026

The fee has 2 slabs. The table below shows the amount, and the part that comes back after the candidate appears in the CBT.

Some points about the Application Fee are given in the notice.

• Only online payment is accepted, and the service charges are paid by the candidate

• A form without the fee is rejected summarily, and no representation is heard

• The refund is credited only to the Aadhaar-linked bank account. A candidate who has no bank account can give the Aadhaar-linked account of a family member

• Fee is not refunded if the form is incomplete, not submitted or rejected

• If the railway cancels the vacancies, only those who sat in the CBT get a refund

The EBC concession needs more care. EBC means family income below Rs. 50,000 a year, and it is a different category from OBC and EWS. The candidate needs a valid EBC certificate, BPL card, Izzat MST or a certificate of a central poverty alleviation scheme on the date of applying, and the original has to be shown at DV. A document issued after 25 November 2026 is not accepted. An EBC candidate gets only the fee concession and no job reservation.

Minority candidates (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians) must give an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper at the time of DV for the concession.

RRB Station Master Documents Required, Photo and Signature Size

For the online form only a few files are needed. The rest are shown later at document verification.

Live photo rules

There is no KB size or pixel size for the photo in the notice, because it is captured by the application itself. The conditions given are these.

• Use the web cam of a laptop or the front camera of a phone, and keep the camera at eye level

• The background must be plain white, with no scenery, plants, humans or animal pictures

• Wear plain non-white clothes, preferably dark, and cover the shoulders and chest

• No cap, mask or glasses, and the full face must be visible with the eyes open

• The head should fill at least 50% of the photo, and the area below the chest should not show

• The Live photo can be previewed and retaken as many times as needed until the form is submitted

• A photo clicked of another photo, either printed or on a screen, makes the form liable to summary rejection

The appearance of the candidate during the whole process should look like this photo. If the live photo does not match the ID proof, the portal generates Annexure VIII, which has to be signed by a Gazetted Officer and uploaded.

Signature specification

Only the candidate can sign. A thumb impression, a blank image, a partly visible signature or a signature of another person leads to rejection. The same style of signature must be used at the CBT, CBAT, DV, medical examination and at appointment.

SC/ST certificate for free travel

An SC/ST candidate who wants the free sleeper class travel pass selects "Yes" in the form and uploads the certificate as a PDF below 400 KB, valid as on the last date of the application window.

Documents for the later stages

These are not uploaded now, but candidates should arrange them.

Originals and two sets of self-attested photocopies are needed at Document Verification, and certificates must be in English or Hindi. Anything in another language needs a self-attested translation. Certificates in a different format will not be taken. For the exam days a colour passport photo, not older than two months, and an original photo ID are also required.

Correction Window for RRB Station Master 2026

The board has kept a paid correction window from 28 November 2026 to 07 December 2026. Here is how it works.

If the extra difference fee is not paid in those two cases, the modified form is not accepted. Check everything in first submission, since each correction costs money.

Common Reasons for Rejection of RRB Station Master Application

Para 20.1 of the notice names some grounds, and other paragraphs add a few more. The notice itself says the list is not complete.

1. More than one application, to the same RRB or to different RRBs. All of them are rejected, and the candidate is debarred from future RRB and RRC exams

2. A live photo that does not follow the rules

3. A signature that does not follow the rules (non-white background, non-black ink, capital letters, unclear image, incomplete signature, wrong image, blank, thumb impression, signature of another person)

4. Name of the candidate in the debarred list of an RRB or RRC

5. No fee, or fee not confirmed

6. Date of birth different from the Xth class certificate

7. Any other irregularity found at scrutiny, before or after the e-call letter, or at DV

Rejected candidates can see the reason by login on the website and also gets SMS and email. The reason given is final, and the fee is not returned. Candidates who were dismissed from government service, or who are still debarred, should not apply at all.

What to Do About CSC and the Unified RRB Website

The notice mentions two things which confuse many readers.

Unified official RRB website: this is rrb.indianrailways.gov.in. All the 21 RRBs have their own pages inside it, and notices, e-call letters and results come on those pages. The form link is on rrbapply.gov.in. So bookmark both, and ignore every other site.

Common Service Centre (CSC): the notice says that a candidate can take help of a CSC for filling the form and paying the fee through e-wallet. The list is on www.csc.gov.in and the nearest centre can be found on findmycsc.nic.in. Even then the personal mobile and email must be the candidate's own, and the live photo has to be of the candidate. The helpline for form related queries are rrb.help@csc.gov.in, or 9592001188 and 01725653333, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on working days.

The notice also says that RRBs do not appoint any agent or coaching centre.

Mistakes to Avoid While Applying for RRB Station Master 2026

• Applying twice "just to be safe", even with small changes in the details

• Spelling the name differently from the Xth class certificate

• Applying while the graduation result is still awaited

• Choosing the RRB in a hurry, without looking at its zones

• Uploading a signature in capital letters, or with blue ink

• Taking the live photo with a cap, glasses or a coloured background

• Leaving the fee for the last day

• Assuming a EBC document work as OBC or EWS proof

Ques: What is the photo and signature size for RRB Station Master 2026? Ans: The photo is captured live, and the notice gives no size for it. The signature must be a JPG or JPEG file of 30 KB to 49 KB, minimum 140 x 60 pixels and 100 DPI.

Ques: Is Aadhaar or DigiLocker verification compulsory? Ans: The notice advises DigiLocker or Aadhaar verification at the account stage. If it is missed there, Verify Aadhaar has to be done before final submission. Candidates who use other photo IDs are checked much more strictly, and Aadhaar is also needed for the fee refund account.

Ques: Is the correction window free? Ans: No, ₹250 is charged each time, and an extra ₹250 in some category changes. Candidates should also keep checking the RRB website for the e-call letter.

Ques: Which documents are required at the time of applying? Ans: A live photo, the scanned signature, and the SC/ST certificate PDF for those taking the free travel pass. Other certificates are shown at DV.
