RRB Station Master Previous Year Papers, Cut-Off 2026: What Is Available

Updated on 28 October 2026
Many aspirants search for the RRB Station Master Previous Year Question Paper and cut-off as soon as a notification is out. The Station Master post has a new notice this year, CEN No. 08/2026, and the exam is not held yet, so there is no 2026 cut-off at all. What exists is the record of earlier recruitments, and this article explains which part of it are official and where it can be found.
In this article we have given the earlier notices in which Station Master was recruited, the cut-off documents the boards published, what the 2026 notification says about normalisation and minimum marks, and a way to practise with a free mock test. Only facts that are confirmed from the notification or from official railway websites are written here, and a point that is not available is marked as not available.

How Was the Station Master Post Recruited Before 2026
Station Master was not a stand-alone recruitment in the last few cycles. It came inside the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) graduate-level notices, along with other posts. The table below shows what the official documents say.
Notice | Station Master in it | Stages for Station Master | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
CEN 01/2019 (NTPC) | Yes, Level 6, Cat No. 2 | 2nd stage CBT, then CBAT (held on 30 July 2022 for Level 6) | PIB release of 8 September 2022, RRB Secunderabad notice of 8 June 2022 |
CEN 05/2024 (NTPC Graduate) | Yes, 994 vacancies out of 8,113 | Two stage CBT, then CBAT | Detailed CEN 05/2024 on RRB sites |
CEN 06/2026 (NTPC Graduate) | No, four other posts only | Not applicable | PIB release of 11 October 2026 |
CEN 08/2026 | Yes, the only post | Single stage CBT, CBAT, DV, Medical Examination | The notification |
CEN 06/2025 is another NTPC graduate cycle which is still running, with its second stage CBT held on 10 July 2026 as per the official schedule notice. Its detailed notice on the RRB site is a scanned image file, so the post list could not be read from it, and this article does not use that cycle for any Station Master fact.
One more point matters for old papers. In CEN 05/2024 the first stage CBT had 100 questions in 90 minutes (40 General Awareness, 30 Mathematics, 30 Reasoning), and the second stage CBT had 120 questions (50, 35 and 35). The 2026 Station Master notice has no General Awareness section at all, so the old papers are only partly useful.
Is There an Official RRB Station Master Previous Year Question Paper
In the official pages checked for this article, no full question paper PDF of the Station Master exam was found. What the boards did publish is different.
For CEN 05/2024 first stage CBT, candidates who appeared could log in on a link and view their own questions, their responses and the answer keys from 1 July 2025 to 6 July 2025 (23:55 hrs). An objection could be raised against a question, for a fee of Rs. 50 per question plus bank charges.
The same facility has been given again for second stage CBT of CEN 05/2024 and for CEN 06/2025.
The RRB Secunderabad page of CEN 05/2024 also lists official static mock test links for the first stage CBT, the second stage CBT and the CBAT.
So the question papers shown after the exam were meant for the candidates who gave that exam, and they were visible for a few days only. Any website that offers a "Station Master previous year paper PDF" is not an official source, and the candidates should treat its questions as practice material only. CEN 08/2026 does not mention any mock link, answer key window or paper release.
RRB Station Master Previous Year Cut-Off: What Is Published Officially
The boards do publish cut-off marks, and they publish them with the result notices. For Station Master, the following official documents were read for this article.
Notice | Document | What it contains |
|---|---|---|
CEN 01/2019 | RRB Secunderabad, CBAT shortlist, 8 June 2022 | Cut-off marks (out of 120) of the 2nd stage CBT for Level 6, Cat No. 2 Station Master, by category |
CEN 05/2024 | Cut-off for CBT 1 to CBT 2 results, 19 September 2025 | Category wise cut-off (out of 100), Cat No. 2 is one of the rows |
CEN 05/2024 | Cut-off for CBAT and CBTST shortlisting, 15 December 2025 | Cut-off (out of 100) of the candidates shortlisted for CBAT, Cat No. 2 |
CEN 05/2024 | Cut-off after CBAT, 7 May 2026 | For Cat No. 2 the marks are 70% of CBT 2 plus 30% of CBAT |
Three things should be understood before anyone looks at these files.
Each RRB prints its own cut-off, so there is no single All India figure. The Secunderabad files show rows only for the zones of that board.
The columns are category wise (UR, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM) and also split for PwBD sub-categories, so the cut-off of one column cannot be compared with another.
The scale changes from stage to stage. One document is out of 120, others are out of 100, and the final one is a combined mark of the CBT and the CBAT.
For this reason, the numbers are not copied into this article. A figure taken from a different board, a different stage and a different pattern can mislead a candidate more than it helps. Links to the original files is given in the Important Links section.
The CBAT also has its own bar. The 2026 notice requires a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery, with no relaxation for any category. The Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) has an official FAQ which says that this qualifying criterion is the same in all RRBs.
RRB Station Master Cut-Off 2026: What CEN 08/2026 Says
No cut-off marks are published for 2026, since the CBT is not conducted yet. The notification does give the rules by which the cut-off will come out.
Rule | As per CEN 08/2026 |
|---|---|
CBT | Single stage, 100 questions, 120 minutes |
Negative marking | 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer |
Normalisation | Yes, if the exam runs in more than one shift |
Shortlisting for CBAT | eight times the vacancies of each RRB, counted community by community, using the normalised CBT score |
Minimum qualifying marks | UR 40%, EWS 40%, OBC (NCL) 30%, SC 30%, ST 25%, same for ExSM as per community |
CBAT qualifying | Minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery, no negative marking |
Final merit | 70% weightage to CBT, 30% weightage to CBAT |
Document Verification | Candidates equal to the vacancies, in order of merit |
The notice adds that the CBAT number can be raised or lowered if the Railway Administration needs so. It also says that the vacancies are provisional. In simple words, the last mark of the shortlist for each RRB and each community will become the cut-off, and it will be known only after the result of the CBT is declared.
What Normalisation Means Here
CEN 08/2026 says only that normalisation will be done when the CBT is held in multiple shifts. It does not explain the method. The Railway Recruitment Boards had issued a general notice on 4 November 2024 "for all CENs", which describes the percentile method: the marks of every shift are converted to percentile scores, and then a base shift is used to get the normalised marks. It is not stated in the 2026 notice whether the same method will be used, so this should be treated as the earlier practice, not as a confirmed rule for CEN 08/2026.
RRB Station Master Expected Cut-Off 2026
The notification does not give any expected cut-off, and a board does not announce such a figure before the exam. This article also does not give a number. Any "expected cut-off" printed before the exam is a guess of the website that prints it.
What the candidate can do is to keep two things in mind. First, the 40% qualifying mark in the notice is only a minimum for UR and EWS (that is 40 marks out of 100), and the real shortlist cut-off is decided by how many candidates are to be called. Second, the cut-off is RRB wise, so choice of the RRB in the form matters as much as the score.
RRB Station Master Mock Test: Practise With a Free Exam-Style Test
There is no Station Master mock test on our site yet, because the exam pattern of CEN 08/2026 is new. The closest free full-length railway mock is the RRB NTPC Graduate Level Free Mock Test 1, and it should be described honestly.
It is a general railway graduate-level test, not a Station Master paper.
It has 100 questions in 90 minutes, with 30 Mathematics, 40 General Awareness and 30 General Intelligence and Reasoning questions.
Each wrong answer carries a deduction of one third mark, same as the Station Master CBT.
Questions are in Hindi and English, and the result page gives the score card, solutions and a rank.
At present only one test of this exam is live, and a sign-in is needed to take it.
Because the Station Master CBT has no General Awareness the 40 awareness questions of this mock are not useful for it. The 60 Mathematics and Reasoning questions are the useful part. They cover Number System, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Data Interpretation, Analogy, Number Series, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Syllogism, Venn Diagrams and Data Sufficiency. The mock has no Reading Comprehension, no basic Science questions on units, friction or electricity, and its time limit is 90 minutes, where the Station Master CBT gives 120 minutes.
A sensible way to use it is to attempt the test once, check the section wise marks of Mathematics and Reasoning only, and read the solutions of every wrong answer. Only the first attempt counts for the leaderboard.
